Product Details
As the days become longer and staying in, is the new going out. If a cosy night at home with delicious cheese and good wine sounds like your vibe, this is the cheese selection for you.
Included in this cosy night in cheeseboard is:
Baron Bigod
Baron Bigod is a stunning brie-style British cheese, with a rich, full, earthy flavour and a lingering finish. It's made by Jonny Crickmore from the milk of his own herd of Montbeliarde cows in Suffolk. Jonny likes the cheese best when its wrinkly coat has broken down the golden, buttery paste under the rind, while a thin line of lactic curd at the centre remains.
Cornish Yarg
Cornish Yarg cheese gets its name from the original cheese maker, Alan Gray (Yarg backwards), who reportedly found the recipe in his attic. Cornish Yarg is a nettle wrapped semi hard cheese made from grass rich Cornish milk. Tangy under its natural rind and slightly crumbly in the core, it consistently wins top international awards.
Kidderton Ash
As with many goats cheeses, Kidderton Ash is coated in charcoal ash to protect it as it ripens. With Kidderton, the rind of the cheese distinctively blooms through the ash as it ripens giving it a lovely grey, fluffy appearance that looks superb on a cheeseboard.
This is another great cheese from Cheshire, being made at Ravens Oak Dairy, Nantwich.
Devon Blue
An excellent blue cows' cheese with a moist, slightly crumbly texture. Made by Robin Congdon, of Ticklemore Cheese, on his farm by the banks of the River Dart. He's a real blue cheese specialist! . Sharing a crumbly texture, but with a greater intensity of flavour than its ewe and goat siblings. The flavour is assertive yet rounded, and the resultant taste is clean and pleasing.
Caramelised Balsamic onion chutney
A savoury chutney with a sweet stickiness from the aged Balsamic Vinegar of Modena and caramelisation of the sweet onions. 100g size approximately. Made by the Snowdonia Cheese Company, famous for their Black Bomber cheese.
