Isle of Avalon

A washed-rind cheese from Somerset with a sticky, orange rind and a supple, creamy paste. The aroma is savoury and farmyard-rich, but the flavour is gentler than it smells: meaty, buttery and slightly sweet. Named after the Arthurian legend around Glastonbury, it is a Somerset answer to the washed rinds of eastern France.
