Cornish Kern
Hard (Alpine style) from Cornwall, England
Created by Lynher Dairies in Cornwall, Cornish Kern is a hard cow’s-milk cheese with Alpine inspiration and a distinctly Cornish identity. It won Supreme Champion at the World Cheese Awards in 2017, but the reason to eat it is the flavour: firm and smooth with deep caramelised, nutty and savoury notes. It is polished without being boring, and an excellent example of modern British cheesemaking at its best.
