A small square-shaped cheese, washed in brine giving it an orange rind and a pungent aroma (its bark is worse than its bite). It is extremely popular in France and can be found almost everywhere. Carre de l'Est has a runny texture reminisant of brie, yet more buttery. It's my sister's favourite cheese, we post it to her in New Zealand, sometimes it gets there, sometimes it doesn't!
