Epoisses, made in the villages around Dijon, is a spectacularly smelly, very runny, washed rind cheese. It has a bright orange, sticky rind as it is washed in Marc de Bourgogne (the local pomace brandy) and gives off a yeasty pungent farmyard aroma that is reflected in its strong, meaty flavour. Probably the smelliest cheese in the shop!
