In our opinion the best Cheddar ever, and only one of very few that are made to traditional recipes and deserving of the cheddar name. Montgomery is made by Jamie Montgomery on his farm in North Cadbury, and he has been supplying us with it for nearly 14 years. In fact before him we bought it from his mother! Jamie is so committed to keeping Montgomery at its best with its unique flavour that he only breeds within his own herd and although his cheese is becoming very famous he still attends to it personally to make sure everything is just so.

It has a sublime, earthy, rich flavour and a smooth texture punctuated with small salt crystals that hint at its 18 month age.
